Today is the birthday of Minna Canth which is celebrated in Finland as both her birthday and Equality Day. This happens to coincide with the Women’s History Month going on in the U.S. So, in honor of Minna Canth I would like to share with you a couple of great things I’ve come across of late.

The ever fabulous Soomo Publishing published a parody of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance set in the Women’s Suffrage which turns out to be a fun history lesson too.

Yes, that very possibly most abused superhero ever is possibly finally going to get treated like an actual human being. I LOVE the fact that roughly six months after DC effectively flipped a finger at women Marvel may have actually listened to the criticism leveled at DC and taken note. I LOVE the fact that Carol Danvers FINALLY doesn’t look like a porn star but instead like the pilot she’s supposed to be. I LOVE that her story line at least supposedly is going to portray her as the competitive person she’s supposed to be instead of a broken down, disenfranchised and disempowered wreck that she’s been for so long (if you’re unaware of the canon check out the Big Picture’s Favorite Ms. Take Part 1, and Part 2).
