Oh. My. Gods! Jem and the Holograms is getting a movie! I couldn’t possibly fully express the amount of squee this produces in me! Jem was one of the big things of my childhood. It’s an animated urban science fiction series featuring as lead Jerrica Benton who has a rock star alter ego; Jem. There is singing, fashion, danger and most of all it’s women using technology and music to save the world! Much of my ability with the English language can be blamed on Jem. Just when I was learning to write, I also started writing down Jem lyrics as I heard them which was hardly accurate always. But I’ve never done my English homework and kept getting top marks so it must have worked.
