The trouble with essentially keeping up/growing two careers at the same time is that there’s never any real time off. Conventions are wonderful, but you are “on” for the entire time. Whatever spare time from the day job I’ve had in the past few years has been spent on doing writing work. Even if I don’t have a lot to show for it in the way published works, I have written a LOT of words. Revised a lot of words too.

So, for the first time in a long while, I’m taking an actual break. I actually started on the 20th. So by the time you read this, I might already be bored out of my skull. But I’m going to endeavor to not work at all until next year. I’ll go to museums, watch all the movies, knit, and possibly dust off my sewing machine and start sewing again.

So have a merry merry if you celebrate at this time of the month, and if not, have something good anyway.
