It’s about to be awards season again, and for once, I have something to share! I am actually eligible for some awards!

Namely, I am eligible for the short story categories in at least the Hugos and the Nebulas with my short story The Scale of Defiance. Please allow me to repeat myself because this is a first. I am eligible for the short story categories in at least the Hugos and Nebulas with my short story The Scale of Defiance! The story was published in the Recognize Fascism anthology published by World Weaver Press. Additionally, the editor of the Recognize Fascism anthology, Crystal Huff, is also eligible for Best Editor (Short Form).

The Scale of Defiance also starts the clock on my eligibility for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer. That means that I’m eligible for that award for the next two years, and then never again.

Who is eligible to vote in these awards, you may ask? On the Nebulas, only SFWA Members who don’t have a financial interest in the work being nominated. For the Hugos, everyone who was a member of last year’s Worldcon, or is a member of this year’s or next year’s Worldcon is eligible to nominate and vote on the Hugo awards. If you’re not already a member, you can look at the membership information for 2021 Worldcon.

Whether or not you do decide to vote for me, or my works, I implore you to vote if you are eligible.
